Look how much pain he’s in cos he lost the thing he loves. I never realised how much actual emotion is shown in this scene. Hannibal is not a psychopath, he’s something much sadder and deeper still. He does feel love and regret and that’s much, much more chilling than waving him off as an unfeeling killer.
